For weeks now while grappling with the uncertainty and physical isolation caused by the pandemic, the Society Heart has sought to respond as one body acting in hope while drawing upon the spirituality of the Society of the Sacred Heart. In the wake of George Floyd's violent death and the cry for justice more publicly in our sights, we must confront the virus of racism and injustice that continues to plague our world. We must raise our voice in opposition to acts of racial discrimination and act tirelessly to combat the sin of racism. Such action is impossible without prayer. (www.rscj.org)
The Spiritual Ministry Center will be offering prayer and reflection on Tuesday mornings at 10:30 am, October 6 - November 10, 2020.
Each week, we will read an article or view a video clip that focus on radical disparities through the lens of our Christian faith. Then, we will discuss spiritual disciplines of care, compassion, outreach and attentiveness to find the Christ dwelling among us and in the word so that we can become agents of transformation, people of hope in our nation.
